Japanese and American naval officers await the arrival of the world fliers from
their long flight from Attu. The man in the black pointed hat is Linton Wells,
the Associated Press representative, who followed the flight all the way
 from the Aleutians to India.

A fisherman's hut on the shore of Lake Tochimoye, one mile from Hitokappu Bay,
 the second stop in the Kurile Islands. This was the sleeping quarters for the airmen
 for several nights. At left is the "innkeeper." The others are Japanese officials
assigned to monitor the British Round the World Flight.
