Allahabad, northwest of Calcutta, was the next service point for the DWCs. C.V. GLINES

Orleans developed a leak in a cylinder jacket, and as the British had a major repair
and supply depot at Larone where they maintained a stock of Liberty engines
and parts, they agreed to send a new cylinder to Ambala. Nelson and Harding
installed it the next day, and the flight continued to Multan, India, July 3.

The route of flight was along the edge of the Sind Desert through a sand storm
which blasted them unmercifully and cut down the visibility to a few yards.
they followed a railroad but had to fly low in order to see it and
the heat singed their faces.
