The photographer who took this First Flight Around the World  welcoming crowd had no idea that he was standing at the spot where in 25 years there would be a modern Navy Air Station Control Tower.

That momument at left now stands at the parks entrance.



Seaplanes, fighters, bombers and patrol planes ringed the NAS Seattle control tower in 1953. See aerial below.
