Sand Point Naval Air Station - RESTORATION
Name: Building 30, Hangar & Office Building   Address: 6310 NE 74th St

A Full scope of
Seismic Retro-fit, Fire-control and program Space renovation of the
(West Wing) of
 Building 30

has been approved by the
Mayor of Seattle

Reported by
Christopher Williams,
Seattle Parks & Recreation
Acting Superintendent.

Previously, all but the 3rd floor of the west wing was to be completed, leaving the historically significant Commanding Officer's Suite out of the renovations.

"We are so pleased that now these quarters will be open to the public for events, receptions and other gatherings."
Friends of Naval Air Station Seattle

The Commanding Officer's suite's marble fireplace is one of only two such fireplaces on a Navy base in the
United States.

Also scheduled to be restored is the wonderful pre WWII Navy Star
 on the floor of the
 Ready Room.
