JOHN J. GORE
b. December 29, 1842, St. Nicholas at Wade, England;
d. December 17, 1919, Sacramento, Ca.
John Gore was sent here to the states with his two small sisters at the age of about 16.  Emma Gore and Margeret Gore were his sisters. John enlisted in the Army and fought in the Civil War seving in the 72nd Company E. out of Chicago Ill. We believe he was sent to the states because his father had died in England and the three children would have had a better chance of making it here in the states and would not be a burden to the church back in England.
