Mitchell Leonard, a 13-year-old eighth-grader and an honorary member of the team, raised the Class C District trophy above his head. And the tears started flowing as Mitchell was mobbed by the Blackhawks after Fennville's dramatic, come-from-behind victory Friday night over Covert, 51-48, before a crowd of 3,614, the second-largest crowd ever at Hope College's  Devos Fieldhouse

Mitchell's brother,  Wes Leonard died on the court floor just days before this championship game.  Wes died of an enlarged heart.
