Man, Passes On
Will M. Bale, 79, died at his home on east Main street suddenly Monday about noon, from a heart attack following an illness of two weeks. The funeral was held Wednesday afternoon, under Masonic auspices from the Bale residence with Rev. Susanna Olson assisting.
The pall bearers were George Mechem, Chas Bassett, Theo. Wade, W.E. Shiffert, Charles Reed, Louis N. Johnson.
Mr. Bale was one of Fennville's oldest and most highly esteemed citizens, having lived here since 1888. He was engaged in the mercantile and express business for many years and had large farming interests.
Will Bale was born Feb. 5, 1854 at Lewiston, N.Y. and when 12 years of age the family moved to Vermontville, Mich. In 1879 he was married to Margaret J. Fleming, who survives, with two sons James and Lawrence Bale, and one daughter, Mrs. Bessie Whitbeck, all of Fennville. He also leaves three brothers and two sister and many other relatives. He was a charter and life member of Damascus lodge F. and A.M.
