Ray was raised on the Crane farm at location"1" where his family worked. Vern remembers visiting Ray where they explored the farm together. His family later moved to location "2" being where the Walt Meyar's junk yard was. Ray later purchased 50 acres north where is shop is and he and his wife now live.

This is the first car he rebuilt. It was was given to him in 1951, before he graduated from school, by his mother's uncle.
