Mary Julia Miller, 99, of Holland, Michigan died Saturday, October 18, 2008 at Oakcrest Manor. Born December 15, 1909, to Eason E. Wells and Priscilla (Sowersby) Wells in Clyde Township, Michigan.

She married Clarence Miller who preceded her in death December 24, 2001.
She was a school teacher for many years in the Fennville Area Schools from 1951 till her retirement in 1971.
She was a member of the Douglas Community Church in Douglas, Michigan; the Michigan Education Assoc.; and the Allegan County Retired School Teachers Assoc.
She enjoyed crocheting, playing cards, piano and organ at the church for many years.
Surviving are her children; a son, Leroy and Dorothy Miller of Columbia, South Carolina;
a daughter, Julia and Ronald Layton of Hopkins, Michigan;
6 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Edith P. Jacobson of West Olive, Michigan.
Services are scheduled for Tuesday, October 21, 2008 at 1:00 P.M. at the Chappell Funeral Home, Fennville, Michigan, with the Dr. Daniel N. Miller officiating. Visitation is scheduled for Tuesday, October 21, 2008 from noon till the time of service. Burial will be in Fennville Cemetery. Memorial donations are to be made to the Douglas Community Church.
